"The world is not in your books and maps. It's out there." -Gandalf
There has been nothing so true. The world is found in community and in culture not in geography and tales. What's important is the person to your right, to your left, the one in front of you and the one behind you. If one should fall it's important to have another beside them to help them back up. (Ecc. 4:9-12) Relationships are risky but with risk comes great reward.
Invest in those relationships that are positive in your life. Lift up those around you in any way, shape, or form. Just as Liz hugged a complete stranger in pain...she shared her tears and reassured the lady how loved she is. "I'll pray for your puppy" What an example of raw, real love. We should all be sharing in our pain, and holding each other up when we may have lost hope.
The Lord could not have illustrated love and community any clearer to me. After begging a friend to get on board and help keep me afloat rather than judge and withhold graces, He showed me His compassion and love in a complete stranger. Liz's gentleness loved every being that walked through that Animal Hospital door. She asked to hear each person's story. Called them by name and assured them she would be praying for them and their animal. She met each pet owner with a hug as they left the exam room. Weeping she hugged a lady and said, "I love you. And I'll pray for your puppy." If we could all just get over ourselves and meet each other in our pain and struggles. Embrace one another and explain the love and support that exists for each one of us. What an example of limitless love.
The Lord has convicted me of withholding my graces and love for this world. That I must extend my arms and reach to those who are hurting. And reach out my arms when I, too, am in pain. May we share in eachother's greatest joys and rejoice in thanksgiving!!
Lord, don't let me lonely. Let me remind everybody that they are not alone either.
