have firsthand encounters with the world. The world the way it is, not the way you imagine it. This will change you. Nothing will ever again be black-and-white.

prepare for departure

I leave for Rome in 4 days. So excited to navigate the metro, walk the cobble stone streets, carry my pack, and stumble upon something great!! And then to board a cruise ship off to Sicily, Italy...Athens, Greece...Ephesus, Turkey, and the Grecian island of Crete. I need spontaneity. I need to feel mystery and overcome a challenge. My heart longs to travel and experience new culture. Built to adapt. Always a nomad at heart.

Preparing myself for a season of change. Wanting to build a strong foundation. Get finances in order and enhance my skills: art, guitar, culinary, language, physical activity. Starting dance classes again. Perhaps serving tables as well. Considering getting certified bilingual and interpreting certification. Proposing ideas to interpret prenatal classes, lactation, hospital tours, etc. Building a life resume. Organizing photos to make a coffee table book of my journey. Considering a missions trip or next trip to India to visit Mother Teresa's outreaches. Want to be among culture--aiding, teaching, loving. Do not want to miss out on my life's calling. "I Press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me," Philippians 3:12...never forget.

Preparing myself for what lies ahead. trusting that He'll lead, I'll follow. Content with where I am at but never complacent...wanting more. More personal challenges. Goals to attain. Less routine, more adventure. Fall is around the corner. I will bid farewell to summer in the eastern hemisphere among the Mediterranean sea...and when I return as the leaves change in their autumn glory, I too will allow myself to transform...allow growth, gain strength, knowledge, and beauty. Accomplish what I wish to accomplish. Pursue all of life's great wonder. See new sights. Share love and encourage life to those in darkness. Allow joy to radiate through me...as it once so naturally did.

Return to the basics---love to live. live to love.
